2020 QUOTES

“2020 has been a transformative year, as all of us have to move quickly to digitalise and adapt to the new normal. This accelerated and increased reliance on digitalisation is not without risk, because cyber threats continue to grow in scale and sophistication worldwide. Cybersecurity is a team sport. Ensuring a resilient and secure cyberspace requires a collective effort from the government, organisations, industry professionals, academia and individuals.
The nominees and winners have all contributed to the cybersecurity ecosystem through strengthening innovation, championing good cybersecurity practices and developing cyber talents. I would like to congratulate all the award winners. Keep up the good work in creating a vibrant cybersecurity ecosystem in Singapore.”

- Mr David Koh, Commissioner of Cybersecurity and Chief Executive of the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA)

On behalf the Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP) and all supporting associations. A warm welcome to the Cybersecurity Awards 2020! It has been an eventful year since our inaugural Awards in 2018. While cybersecurity remains high public interest when there are incidents and risks, the Cybersecurity Awards focus on the positive aspect of cybersecurity professional development and how various stakeholders in Singapore’s ecosystem can collaborate as partners to achieve greater heights. Since 2018, the Singapore Cyber Security Inter Association (SCSIA) involving nine associations, has been working closely with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore to make the Cybersecurity Awards a community-centric platform for all aspiring professionals, companies, and associations to be recognised for their contributions and sacrifices for the greater good of the cybersecurity ecosystem. On behalf of AiSP, I want to express my thanks to the supporting organisations from Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + International Studies, Cloud Security Alliance Singapore Chapter, High Technology Crime Investigation Association (Singapore), ISACA Singapore Chapter, (ISC)2 Singapore Chapter, itSMF Singapore Chapter, Singapore Computer Society, SGTECH and The Law Society,. 2020 was a special year for everyone of us as we need to deal with the pandemic that the nation was facing and making use of the technology to keep life and work moving. I am touched that even in this difficult time, we have companies and individuals standing up to help to enhance the ecosystem to make it a more cohesive and vibrant one. The contributions made by them have enable us to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The 2020 Awards would not have been possible without the efforts and support of volunteers who have contributed as judges. It has been, indeed, not an easy task. I wish to thank our judges from the supporting associations for giving us their valuable time and their collective wisdom in assessing the outstanding nominees. On behalf of SCSIA, I would like to thank our generous sponsors and supportive partners for making this celebratory event a success despite the circumstances we are in. I hope that we can stay strong together and overcome this difficult time together and look forward to everyone coming together in later part of the year for a bigger Cybersecurity Awards 2021 as we make new connections and reconnect with our peers for new ideas in serving Singapore’s cybersecurity community.

- Mr Johnny Kho, President of the Association of Information Security Professionals
